Whales returns to his melodic roots with new Roee Yeger Collab 'It's Not Love' on Monstercat

2023 is shaping up to be another year of strong releases from the Israeli producer.

As many people know, Whales makes both melodic and heavy music. He actually has two sides to his music releases, 'Aqua' and 'Soul'. While much of the past two years have been focused on the Aqua project, Whales thought it was time to return to his melodic roots.

This first 'Soul' release is a special one for Whales. Yeger and Whales have known each other for over ten years and share the same musical idols. It is the culmination of many years of work by both artists, along with a soothing vocal performance by Meggie York.

The song is different from a typical Whales release, as he usually is in the trap, future bass and dubstep realm of producing. This track is a halftime melodic anthem and is a wonderful deviation from the norm of his sound. The drops are bouncy, the drums are punchy and the synth work is masterfully crafted throughout. Meggie York had a fantastic vocal performance. There truly was not much missing from this track.

We're continuing the momentum of great releases from 2022 into 2023 in the bass music scene.

We highly recommend investigating this one further.
