The Filthy Beat Inspectors are always listening and on the look out for the latest heavy-hitting beats in the bass music community. Recently, the walls of our departments have been housing agents who are always on the lookout for something more...something different.
Maintaining their high level of prominence amongst the music community, Ophelia Records has released a remix pack for 'Shadows', one of the hardest-hitting tracks of 2021 thus far. Combining the melodic genius of Seven Lions, the heavy real riddim by Wooli and the angelic voice of Amidy, the growth of such a track truly requires many different takes.
Without any intention of taking away from the other remix pieces, this article is mainly meant to highlight the Xavi take on the original.
The Xavi project has provided nothing but the best of ethereal-like originals as well as remixes that provide the same emotional reactions. With every form of composition, Xavi draws feelings of pure happiness and euphoria amongst listeners that simultaneously inspire his work. This remix he produced takes the melodic tempo of the original track and adds an electronica-esque beat that is the textbook definition of 'in your face'.
Following the initial buildup and intense first drop into satisfactory melodic mayhem, the second drop is an ode to old-school trance as described.
