Making his long-awaited solo release debut on Ophelia Records, Au5' latest track exceeds all expectations of sadbois and headbangers alike.
The Filthy Beat Inspectors are always listening and on the look out for the latest heavy-hitting beats in the bass music community. To supplement the heaviest of beats produced by the latest up-and-comers as well as bass legends of this scene, our Melodic Dubstep Investigations officers provide reviews on the softer side of bass music.
This week, we are highlighting the latest release from a bass music legend whose unmistakable sound is known and loved the world over.
The presence of Au5 (Austin Collins) commands the attention of festival-goers when he steps on stage and there's no turning away. With melodic dubstep taking the scene by storm recently, Au5 has been at the forefront of said movement. Supplying release after release such as collaborations with Seven Lions as well as support from Slander and NGHTMRE, he continues to develop his sound into something that transcends the listener to an auditory paradise.
"From the stargazers to the neck-breakers, Au5‘s music has something we can all immerse ourselves in. Born and raised in New Jersey, Au5 has been a lifelong musician. Trained in classical piano since age 4 and studying bass guitar and music production since age 13, Austin is a well-rounded composer and music technologist".
The Paper Owl has such an angelic feeling to it right out the gate. From the chimes and supportive drums, the composition of this song is absolutely insane when Arehlai's vocals are added to round everything out. Au5' art and production transports you to a utopian world that’s as vibrant as it is monumental.
Continuing this weekend's kickoff with the big news, Ophelia announces Seven Lions' latest travel plans: The Pantheon Tour.
With support (varying by location) from Blanke, Jason Ross, Kill the Noise, Last Heroes, Wooli, Trivecta, Xavi, and Gem & Tauri, this tour is bound to take the nation by storm. Prior to the global pandemic, The Journey 2 tour was Jeff Montalvo's latest showing as the solo headliner and the production then was exceptional. One can only hope to imagine what the melodic bass don has in store for us in the months to come.
We are ALWAYS listening...
