His new self release strikes a fire inside of us, all in the name of lighthearted riddim.
The latest self-release from Canada's own, Izzy Vadim, might be our favorite yet. It's a single called Contaminated Crops, and he just independently released it with some vegetable-themed cover art.
The song recently stirred up Instagram and TikTok, garnering thousands of likes and even a comment from Infekt himself. (This was before the name change; more on that below.)
It has Izzy Vadim's signature slinky sounds, while remaining fun and fresh in the overall landscape of riddim. This is a song that pulls positivity out of our chests, reminding us of Izzy's incredible performance at Denver's Cervantes in 2022.
The second drop is bouncy, triggering irresistable head nods as it thumps our speakers. And this lighthearted, yet filthy, tune has an interesting lore.
Izzy Vadim told us that Contaminated Crops started as a joke.
"I simply named it Infekted Vegetables because it sounded a bit like Infekt, and he’s a huge inspiration for me," Izzy Vadim said.
"After an overwhelming response on social media, I knew I had to finish it. One thing led to another and now we’re here. Eventually I renamed it to Contaminated Crops"
The artwork was also made by Izzy Vadim, who designs all of his own art and visuals in Blender and Photoshop.
Catch Izzy Vadim's upcoming set at Home Bass in Orlando, Florida, as he performs for the Code Lockdown Pool Stage Takeover with MUERTE, Vastive, ANTIHERO and more.
If you call yourself a real riddim connoisour, taste this one for yourself.
