Northern Invasion: Montreal to host 2024 edition of the Riddim Olympics

Riddim was always an underground subgenre of dubstep. But now, it's a staple in the scene, as Northern Invasion expands to two nights.

While festivals in places like Belgium and the southern USA are integrating some of riddim’s most sought after acts, if you are looking for ultimate riddim event, you will experience it at Northern Invasion.


Since its creation back in 2016, Montreal's Northern Invasion has created an unmatched impact on the community: It is now recognized worldwide to be the one-and-only 'Riddim Olympics.'


Champion promoter Alpha Squadron is teaming up with Bass Planet Media and Gnuck Squad to make this year's edition special.


The 2024 lineup has expanded to two days, consisting of many different and unique sets from artists like ARTIX!, Shiverz, MAD DUBZ and more. It will be taking place Friday and Saturday, Feb. 9-10, at Club Soda in Montreal.



International DJs and producers, as well as locals and everyone in between, bring their A-game to show the tasting menu of different flavors that riddim can bring. The hype is also shared for the loyal fans who come from far and wide to live a real riddim experience with a Montreal crowd (that still to this day is unmatched).




All the artists playing serve as some of riddim’s most impressive and notable acts. They incorporate the old classics just as much as the newcomers straight out of SoundCloud.


Here a few that can’t miss:

  • Sevnn B2B Stayns will definitely be blowing all our minds

  • The long-awaited return of Ryu

  • Inaktiv will bring some beautiful synths our way

  • Poklypz and BvdPhaze’s set will be filled with the organic riddim sounds that we all know and love



Finally, we must also give a shout out to the headliners ARTIX! and Shiverz who are both pioneers of the subgenre. Shiverz will give you a set like you never experienced before. As for ARTIX!, it will be his long-awaited Canadian debut which you don’t want to miss!


If you’re not convinced on experiencing the most unique and memorable riddim nights of the year, then I recommend you reconsider. Just one time in that insanely beautiful Montreal riddim crowd and you won’t regret it.
