Brace yourself for the heaviest, darkest dubstep compilation yet from Crowsnest Audio
The wait is over. Crowsnest Audio has unleashed the second installment of their Torture Torn compilation, and it's nothing short of an aural apocalypse. Here at Dubstep FBI, we’ve always admired Crowsnest Audio for their relentless dedication to spotlighting rising stars who push the limits of bass music.
Torture Torn II is a testament to this mission and Crowsnest Audio has once again outdone themselves with this second installment.
The compilation opens with a bang—well, more like a series of relentless, rapid-fire machine-gun blasts. MARTVR, a dedicated disciple of Code: Pandorum, kicks things off with 'Black As Sin.' This track lures you in with a melancholic intro before unleashing a barrage of brutal beats that scream Crowsnest's signature intensity.
"I remember watching Possum the day before and something just clicked. That movie itself is just that inspiring. Also my music is heavily inspired by Code: Pandorum," MARTVR said.
Next, we're taken on a tearout journey by Australia's own Disinety. His track 'Plague of Darkness' doesn’t just drop; it detonates, leaving your jaw somewhere around your ankles.
"Plague of Darkness came about one night when I was sitting on a call with one of my best mates Darcy. He wanted to know how to make that slow Tearout type of track that’s become more popular recently, so I sat there and made the first drop of the track in front of him," Disinety said. "That drop sat around for a little while until Sven (Code: Pandorum) and his wife Sca reached out for some demos for the comp. Sven heard the drop and loved it. So I was up the rest of that night making the rest of the track and that’s about it."
Trust us, you'll need a moment to recover from this one.
The compilation then takes a twist with a historic collaboration between FaceSplit and Forreign. These long-time Crows combine their powers for the first time to create a track that’s both melodic and savagely raw. Expect gunfire-like bass drops and BPM switches that will keep you on your toes and begging for more.
Making his grand entrance on Crowsnest Audio is Graphyt with 'Subduction.' This track is a headbanger’s dream, blending metal-inspired riffs with thunderous bass.
"Subduction was made with one idea in mind: violence," Graphyt said. "Since the release is on Crowsnest Audio I tried to stay really dark on this one, no chill melodies, very distorted and subby bassline with metal guitars."
We've been tracking Graphyt since Dubstep FBI’s early days, and his debut here does not disappoint.
Newcomer BLOOD PVCT steps up next with 'You Cannot Hide,' a track that combines horror-inspired vocals with a spine-tingling drop. It’s a fresh face in the scene delivering a classic yet impactful dubstep experience.
"This is a tribute track to my favorite fantasy story of all time The Lord of The Rings," said BLOOD PVCT. "The listeners will hear various samples scattered throughout that were taken from the films while the larger song represents Sauron’s malice and anger."
DEAMZ and Necrotic Noise team up for a chaotic collaboration that epitomizes the ruthless tearout sound. Their track is a whirlwind of creative breaks, hard-hitting drums, and relentless energy that’s bound to leave a lasting impression.
We’re thrilled to see BVRNT return from the first Torture Torn compilation. This time, he partners with Jvmpskare to bring us a track that will test the very limits of your speakers with some of the craziest fake drops and impeccable pacing.
Of course, no Crowsnest compilation would be complete without a contribution from Code: Pandorum. His latest track, featuring vocals by Original God, is a brutal return to his Deathstep/Tearout roots, delivering a metal-infused masterpiece that’s both nostalgic and innovative.
AVANCE also joins the fray with 'KILL AGAIN,' a dark and grim journey through his signature horror-inspired soundscapes.
"KILL AGAIN is about a psychopath trying to hold back their thirst for blood, inspired by classic and modern Horror combined," said AVANCE.
This track is not for the faint-hearted, but for those who dare, it’s an unforgettable experience.
Qoiet’s 'your VENOM' showcases an insane vocal range, from gut-wrenching screams to heart-rending cleans. It’s a track that embodies the essence of what makes Crowsnest Audio so special: raw emotion and unbridled energy.
Closing out the compilation is 'The Jester' by PICSO, a masterclass in blending orchestral elements with bone-crushing drops.
"It’s an honor to be featured on this great compilation among such marvelous names in the scene. Scarlet and Sven created a beautiful community, and I’m always thankful to them," said PICSO.
"Regarding The Jester, orchestration and symphony are the spotlights of my production. I believe any classical or orchestral piece can open wondrous doors for a person, evoking different emotions depending on the listener. One may feel brave, while another can feel scared," PICSO said. "When one feels there is no tomorrow, another can feel 'nothing can stop me tomorrow.' That complexity is my muse—the power to affect and change the overall mood of a random human being miles away and giving them the opportunity to feel the way they want to feel in that moment. Helping them, even in a tiny way, to get through life, which we all know can be hard, is truly fulfilling."
This track is a fitting finale, leaving listeners in awe and eager for the next installment.
Torture Torn II is out now on Crowsnest Audio. This compilation is a must-listen for anyone who loves bass music that pushes boundaries and defies expectations.
