The Denver trio has evolved into a machine, selling out shows, while collabing with Chibs, FRAXURE, Dream Takers and Yoto.

For years, fans have coined Denver as the real Bass Capital.
Not only because of its mouthwatering events calendar, but because of its insanely loyal dubstep scene and its reputation as a cultural hub for innovative bass music.
Given those facts, it's no surprise that Hostage Situation's roots are anchored strong within Denver and the larger Colorado scene.
Now, they're proving why they deserve the attention of national and international audiences with their sophomore album called Hostile Frequencies.
The album stays true to their roots of heavy dubstep and riddim bangers, while also sprinkling in a taste of experimental bass, bass house and even a little drum 'n bass.
There are collaborations with Chibs, Dream Takers, FRAXURE and Yoto, and a vocal spot by MACY. This album arrives smack-dab in the middle of their massive 2025 tour called Hostile Frequencies.
Some of our favorite songs on the album include Don't Speak, Skoolin with Chibs, Backfire with Yoto, Mind Over Matter and Problem with Dream Takers and FRAXURE.

The tour features support acts like Brondo, Decadon, Joust, Mile32, Mongrel and 7L, and has already sold out headline stops in Fort Collins and Boulder, in addition to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Believe it or not, Hostage Situation was only formed in 2021, so the sophomore album and successful national tour are solidifying their permanent place in the crowded dubstep industry.
"This album represents everything we've been working toward since we formed in 2021," Hostage Situation said. "We wanted to create an experience that goes beyond just dubstep or riddim – something that shows the full range of what Hostage Situation can be."
There is clearly a demand for their live sets, and after listening to this album front-to-back, we are issuing a warrant for their arrest. Now is your chance to catch them live before they break into the next tier of venues and festivals.
Hostage Situation is up next. Take a gander and see why for yourself.
