Rock-fueled tearout meets melodic chaos on Kannibals at the Beach Vol. 4
If you’ve been to a bass festival in the last year, chances are you’ve already heard this one tearing through the crowd. 'Back 2 U' is the long-awaited collab from Phocust & The Living Proof and it officially dropped August 8 as part of Kannibalen Records’ summer compilation Kannibals at the Beach Vol. 4.
It’s every bit the genre-blurring powerhouse we hoped for.
The track opens with an emo-tinged rock intro and then wastes no time plunging into an absolutely unhinged tearout drop before winding down into melodic wobbles that hit you right in the feels.
The duo’s chemistry is undeniable and came from countless hangouts in LA where they brainstormed how to bring their unique flavor to the heavy-bass scene.
"Back 2 U def has an emo-rock anthem vibe to it," Phocust said. "Something that we both feel isn't always prioritized as much in EDM."
Back 2 U has already made the rounds at festivals like Bonnaroo and Apocalypse, earning nods from heavy-hitters including Excision and CRaymak.
Fans can expect Phocust’s signature heavy and wonky vibe paired with The Living Proof’s raw emo rock energy. It’s a combo that’s not only fresh but something that’s been missing in today’s EDM landscape.

If you’re heading to Lost Lands 2025, get ready. Phocust is making his debut and The Living Proof is continuing to carve out a spot as a regular name on heavy-bass lineups for Insomniac and Bassrush.
Stream Back 2 U now and prepare yourself for pure unrelenting chaos.
