VLCN ventures into uncharted space with a new EP

Dropping on Rude Service, VLCN’s new EP 'The Unknown' blazes a new path in heavy dubstep.

Stacked with four tracks, VLCN makes his mark in establishing himself as an artist more than worthy of our investigation.

Composed of three massively heavy collabs and one solo melodic track, The Unknown is a journey into VLCN’s sound like we’ve never seen before. Featuring collaborations with Stryer, AG, and BLUPILL, the EP is a fantastical ride from start to finish.

Proving himself far from a one-dimensional artist, you can hear the differences between each track to high effect. The melodic track Eternity Unknown is a calming balm to soothe our spirits after hearing three tracks with such high-intensity built-in.

"I never want to genre-lock myself; the EP has three heavier tunes." said VLCN, "All with different soundscapes, and a melodic track that tugs on the heartstrings. It will truly keep you guessing. I've always been inspired by Excision and Bear Grillz alike, they are both extremely talented and diverse with their releases, so I wanted to use the inspiration behind that for this debut EP."

Coming off a stacked 2021 with multiple releases on Subsidia Records, Bassrush Records, and Rude Service Records, VLCN also released an absolutely massive track with Plsma that was hailed as “one of the biggest of the year” by Dion Timmer. The Tampa Bay-based producer has landed multiple home runs with his signature sounding tracks and even has one in Fortnite. With support from Excision, Illenium, and many more, he has started 2022 with a bang and shows no signs of slowing down.

As he continues to grow and progress, we believe that the sky is the limit for VLCN, and that will undoubtedly see him play at Lost Lands this year.
