Ghost In Real Life (GIRL) is back and she’s kicking down the door with her latest single, 'Poison', out now on all platforms. The LA-based rising star has been pushing drum & bass into new territory, and this track proves exactly why so many eyes are on her right now.
Poison takes the raw emotion of pop-punk and injects it straight into the chaos of drum & bass. It’s fast, it’s fierce, and it’s dripping with the angst of growing up blasting Avril Lavigne and Blink-182 while secretly dreaming of raving until sunrise.
GIRL ties it all together with her unmistakable vocals that cut right through the mix, making this one hit both the heart and the dancefloor.
The concept behind the track is just as rebellious as the sound. GIRL describes it as a story about toxic people who will do anything to climb the ladder, chasing success the wrong way.
“I call it Poison because there are right and wrong ways to chase success, and the wrong ways can feel addictive, kind of like drinking poison,” GIRL explained. "You feel better in the moment, but eventually it slowly kills you."
That message packs just as much punch as the drums themselves.
