The Ripped Olympics are back — who's ready to earn their shot at Northern Invasion?

Now is the chance to prove yourself and lock in a set where the underground comes alive.

The Ripped Olympics are officially back for their second year and if you’re a riddim producer who’s been sitting on a stack of plates waiting for the right moment, this is it. Ripped Plates cooked up the idea during last summer’s actual Olympics, and it’s already turned into one of the underground’s most exciting traditions.

“I’ve always wanted to host contests on the page, and last summer—during the actual Olympics, the idea for the ‘Ripped Olympics’ was born," said the founder of Ripped Plates. "It really reminded me of the diversity we have in the riddim community and it seemed like the perfect theme for an international contest.”

Last year’s competition was wild but simple — first place walked away with a custom special from the judge of their choice. Then something unexpected happened. Northern Invasion, which everyone in the scene knows is basically the Riddim Olympics of the undergound, hit up the organizers wanting to be part of it.

After some back and forth with the team over at Alpha Squadron, the deal was sealed: this year’s winner won’t just get bragging rights, they’ll be booked to play Northern Invasion 2026.

And the judging lineup is no joke either. To keep that Olympic spirit alive, the crew stacked the panel with heavy hitters from across the globe. “I wanted to include as many influential countries as possible to keep the Olympic theme alive,” they explained.

We’re talking Gram Greene and WYVERN from Australia, JG Dubz and SAIGGA holding it down for Brazil, Motus and Zeydax repping Canada (with Zeydax coming back this year as last year’s champion turned judge), roi*, MIDROLL, INAKTIV, plus a whole roster of international talent that makes this contest feel like the real deal.

The format is simple.

  • Qualifiers: double any tune and post with #RippedOlympics2 (open from September 1 - 2)

  • Quarters: triple it up.

  • Semis: drop a 5 min mix on SoundCloud.

  • Finals: go all in with a 15 min set that shows what you’re made of.

The rules are straightforward but the pressure is heavy.

As the team reminded everyone, “Direct audio isn’t required, but it’s definitely preferred—we just want clean audio without the sound of faders clacking. Keep it respectful toward other contestants, get creative, and most importantly, have fun with it!”

That’s the thing about the Ripped Olympics — it’s competitive, sure, but it’s also a celebration of the scene’s creativity. It’s producers across the world connecting over their love of heavy tunes, flexing their skills, and showing just how far riddim has spread.

Winning means you’ll get your shot at Northern Invasion and a permanent spot in the history books of the underground, but even making it through a round or two is proof that your work can stand up against some of the best in the game.

The question now is simple: who’s gonna step up, take the gold, and claim a slot at Northern Invasion?
