The duo says this sub-genre speaks to them because it feels natural, welcoming and kind.

If you've been around the block, you should know Ugly Lungs.
If you haven't, welcome to the fiesta.
Ugly Lungs is the hottest rising bass music duo in Mexico right now. They are no strangers to Dubstep FBI case files, and their new release has our alarms sounding.
The second this evidence hit our inboxes late on a Friday afternoon, we knew it was time to dig deeper. Time to uncover what the criminals known as Ugly Lungs have been up to lately.
MUEVE is the name. It's a 140 cut that Ugly Lungs produced as an ode to the sub-genre they have found so inspiring as of late. It means "move" in Spanish, which is exactly what the song has us doing.
And it's perfect timing, as the 140 sub-genre continues to stay hot with labels like UMAD? by Modestep and artists like Dr. Ushuu heading for the stars.

"We’ve been cooking up a lot of 140 recently!" Ugly Lungs said. "It’s a genre that we’ve really been feeling comfortable with and we’ve been having a lot of fun exploring."
Since most of Ugly Lungs' music has dabbled around the 140 BPM anyways, they feel natural moving into the 140/UK Dub realm.
"The scene is also pretty welcoming and kind, which definitely makes us want to dive deeper into the style," Ugly Lungs said.
During their massive Wasteland set at EDC Mexico earlier this year, the boys dropped similar tracks in and the crowd ate them up. They never planned a specific direction for MUEVE, it came about naturally.
"As creatives, we try to not put our music in a box and we always encourage ourselves to try as many genres as we can, we have been feeling 140 a lot," Ugly Lungs said.
One of the best things an artist can do is have fun with their music. We love to see the creativity that flows when you just trust the process. When you let the music follow in new directions, not the ones that you think others want to hear.
As for Ugly Lungs, they said they have a couple of mucho grande shows coming up around Mexico in the near future. And while we don't have any clues as to what those shows are, we know these two are just getting started.
