An insider's guide to KAYZO's 'NEW BREED' remixes on Welcome

We are here to aid your investigations with a little-known fact about each remix artist.

The lineup on KAYZO's NEW BREED remix album is stacked with some of the hottest rising dons in the dubstep scene. There are 28 remixes and it is a multi-genre masterpiece.

It's easy for this remix compilation to be of a high caliber when the original album was so great. Not only that, but we recently received three new VIP's from him, added to his already massive arsenal of tracks.

Over the past decade, we have come to know KAYZO for not only his mind-blowing dubstep or his crank-inducing hardstyle, but also for his constant crossover into pop-punk music. He's pioneered the continuous "rocktronic" movement.

KAYZO has taken the rocktronic show on the road with the UNLEASHED XL tour, which will continue into May 2023 and includes an UNLEASHED XL SET at Ultra Music Festival Miami in March.

We are here to aid your investigations of the remix pack by telling you a little-known fact about each artist.

Drum n' Bass:

CYBER DETHHH (Automhate Remix):

WAR (BADVOID Remix):

BURN IT DOWN (PERSONA NON GRATA Remix):

BOTTLE OF RAIN (NVADRZ Remix):

  • This was the only BOTTLE OF RAIN remix on the compilation, and it is filthy drum n bass from NVADRZ out of Europe.

MOONLIGHT (SWARM Remix):

MOONLIGHT (VIP):

Rocktronic:

NEWS FLASH (VIP):

  • Pure, un-adulterated "rocktronic." Everything we've come to love about KAYZO's dubstep is in this track.

NEWS FLASH (Ivory Remix):

  • This remix was slamming speakers for months on the NEW BREED tour before release.

NEWS FLASH (SweetTooth Remix):

  • SweetTooth was recently on the FBI podcast where he talked about trench, dub plate culture and this remix. He referred to it as a "big remix for a very short person," referencing the Lord Farquad jokes going around twitter, as referenced below.

NEWS FLASH (Tisoki Remix):

MOONLIGHT (Poni Remix):

Hard Dance:

NEW BREED (KAMI Remix):

  • Alex from KAMIi did his own "drop that sh*t" in the vocals for this remix that absolutely destroyed Escape during KAYZO's headline set last fall.

NEW BREED (SOREN Remix):

  • SOREN appeared in the 2022 year-end Welcome Records mix and has an official remix of Welcome to the Doghouse that we love.

Pop Punk:

LOVE ME HATE ME (Ryan Browne Pop Punk Remix):

  • This is the only remix on here to have no electronic music in it. It still goes every bit as hard. Ryan Browne plays with CRAY's live band.

LOVE ME HATE ME (VIP):

  • Our favorite foray into the 2000's rave sound. A strong point.

Melodic Bass:

POSER (N3WPORT Remix):

  • This was the only melodic bass on the project and it was melodic halftime. A wonderfully crafted remix that is quickly accumulating streams.

Trap:

DEAD AWAKE (Slang Dogs Remix):

  • While we did not get much trap, this track more than made up for it by the 'Dog duo.

Dubstep:

CYBER DETHHH (Hairitage Remix):

CYBER DETHHH (Samplifire Remix):

  • Samplifire doing Samplifire things. One of the hottest names in the scene right now continued to do more of the same.

CYBER DETHHH (Vastive Remix):

  • Sam from Vastive screamed his own vocals for this track. KAYZO actually surprised him during his set at Bass Canyon by coming out when he played this, see below.

THE SICKNESS (Fransis Derelle Remix):

THE SICKNESS (INHUMAN Remix):

THE SICKNESS (MUERTE Remix):

THE SICKNESS (RZRKT Remix):

  • This one has a nice switchup to techno in the final drop — featuring what might actually be RZRKT's filthiest drop to begin.

THE SICKNESS (Typhon Remix):

WAR (Dr. Ushuu Remix):

MEET YOU IN THE SOUND (BAINBRIDGE Remix):

  • PhaseOne brought BAINBRIDGE out to play this remix at Bass Canyon last year.

GATEWAY (High Zombie Remix):

  • This remix was a favorite of KAYZO's on the NEW BREED tour and was played out several times.

SHT SHOW (HE$H Remix):

  • HE$H continued the trend of him being on a highly anticipated remix pack, directly following up his remix for Subtronics in December 2022.

SHT SHOW (LEVEL UP Remix):

  • LEVEL UP played this one as an unreleased track at Lost Lands in 2022.

SHT SHOW (JACKNIFE Remix):

  • JACKNIFE is a producer from Australia and the only producer from 'down unda' on the compilation.
